Pipe Organ
Return to Photo Gallery More photos

This is the second known pipe organ in the church. The first was installed in 1846. The current instrument was installed June 1919 by the Henry Pilcher's Sons Organ Company (Opus 1015). It was in regular use until after Vatican II reforms. In 1965 an electronic organ was puchased, and congregational singing was led from the floor of the sanctuary. When air conditioning was installed, the windline was disconnected. General neglect and drafty air from the bell tower directly behind the organ led to its deterioration.
